But it's been made redundant for over a decade, now, and it's set to be demolished. Not before the city (after charging $25 bucks a head) recently allowed whomever (and their brother) to walk into the old building, and take home whatever they could drag out.
Sweet ‘R', my man.
Pretty amazing work, from the Spectrum people, to allow/trust fans to
1.) Clean out their house, for them.
2.) Pay for the right to clean out their house.
Also, pretty nice work for the Spectrum people to trust in the fans enough to not freak out over liability and what could go wrong, and have a good time and a good sense of humor as the building that clearly means a lot to Philadelphia prepares to hit the wrecking ball (Monday, as it turns out).
You don't get a lot of stories like this, any more, just like giant ‘R's just don't grow on trees. People are too worried about what could go wrong. Cheers to the Spectrum people for allowing it to go right.
