After winning an NBA championship two weeks ago, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is on top of the world. He's no longer just the most noticeable owner in the NBA -- he's also been validated as one of the most successful.
Incidentally, that success will also help increase his media profile. For proof, watch this ESPN ad tie-in with the soon-to-debut hit film "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," the third film in a live-action series created to sell new toys of cartoon characters originally conceived in the '80s. It's like the circle of life, except that awesome monkey holds an action figure to the sky instead of a newborn lion prince.
In this spot, Cubes tells ESPN's Jay Harris that the Mavs are scouting a new big man, except he didn't go to college, doesn't come from Europe, and isn't a carbon-based lifeform. Apparently Cuban will push hard for a clause in the new collective bargaining agreement allowing transforming robots to play in the NBA. It's the kind of outside-the-box thinking that put this man in the position of power he holds today.
