LeBron James and the Miami Heat, literally, cannot fly right.
Flying into Ohio after Wednesday night's decisive home victory over the Detroit Pistons, James and his team encountered some airplane trouble as the club flew into freezing Cleveland.
The AP has the story:
Jackie Mayo, a spokeswoman for Cleveland Hopkins airport, says the crew of the Heat's plane reported a wing "flap issue" early Thursday as the aircraft was on its approach. An alert was issued at the airport and two fire trucks were sent out to the runway, which is standard procedure.
Mayo says the plane landed safely around 2:30 a.m.
Something else to point out?
That 2:30 a.m. landing is standard operating procedure for these athletes. Pampered, yes, but teams are constantly flying into airports in the wee hours and finally hitting the sack at a hotel some hours later, finally getting some snooze in some 15 hours before we're ready to pore over their every move on national TV, on the second night of a back to back.
Just something to think about, when their first free throw of the night rims out.
