My computer is back, and BtBs will commence shortly enough, but as I wait for updates to configure and operating systems to restart, there is a link left over from this other (way, way more paranoid) computer that I thought I'd pass along.
It's a shot of Manu Ginobili signing autographs in southern California last week, before a Clipper game, and seeing an unidentified shiny object in the sky. Oooooh!
OK, I agree that's pretty lame, but I'm sort of locked out of posting BtB for the time being while these updates configure, and for all we know the end is nigh. So I might as well warn people.
I'm cool with Manu as our human representative, though.
UPDATE: Manu talked with Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News, and had this to say about what he thought he saw:
On the night of Dec. 1, while the Spurs were in Los Angeles for a game against the Clippers, Ginobili saw what he thought was a single-engine plane in the process of crashing outside the team's Santa Monica, Calif., hotel. He tweeted about it. He posted video. He forgot about it.
[...]Apprised of the video after shootaround, Ginobili seemed relieved.
"The good thing is I'm not the only one that saw it," Ginobili said. "I'm not totally crazy."
At the time, Ginobili thought he was witnessing a plane crash. He was expecting to see headlines in the local news, but there was nothing.
"It was a pretty strange flight pattern," Ginobili said. "I thought it was falling, not landing. I thought it was like a plane crash. We were expecting to see it on the news the following day, and there was nothing. That's when we got a little curious, ‘What the hell was that?' "
A famous gossip website also posted the video that tossed at up at the top of this post, but I don't have to credit the famous gossip website, because I didn't see it there. Someone (my TweetDeck only goes down so far, not sure who it is) sent it to me on Twitter.
And as to whether or not there were actual aliens in that craft, I think we should give Manu the final word:
"There's got to be something," Ginobili said. "So many planets around, one of them's got to be something."
