"Frank Vogel. Frank, where are ya?"
It's a question Indiana Pacer fans have been asking for the last few weeks, as their team dawdles in officially hiring the well-regarded interim coach who led the team to the playoffs this spring. Vogel has already interviewed with Houston to fill its coaching opening, and as the Pacers drag their feet, it would appear that the former Jim O'Brien assistant would have a lot of time on his hands.
In the meantime, with that wasted time, he can learn or even re-learn some stupid human tricks. Possibly making a clipper ship in a bottle, or taking up the ukulele.
Or, as are the intellectual property rights of NBC Universal, he can re-learn some actual Stupid Human Tricks. Check out this video of a 13-year-old Vogel on "Late Night with David Letterman," from 1986:
Nothing beats old Letterman clips from 6A, with Chris Elliott possibly hiding under the stairs. Toss in a GE quip and the fact that Dave is a Pacers fan? Perfect. We'll be right back with Teri Garr. Take it away, Paul.
