When 10-year-old Julia Dale was rehearsing the Star-Spangled Banner before Game 2 of the NBA Finals in Miami, her soaring rendition caught the ear of the man who would be directing the game later that night on ABC. She had done so well, he decided, that the performance would be carried live on the national broadcast.
The young Miss Dale didn't disappoint when she got on basketball's biggest stage:
Maybe she could coach Christina Aguilera on how to sing the song on the next season of "The Voice."
Dale had a 4-0 record when performing the anthem before Miami Heat games. For a while on Thursday night it looked like she would go 5-0. Then Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks pulled off one of the most thrilling comebacks in Finals history, ruining Dale's perfect record.
No matter, Julia. As LeBron James and Dwyane Wade surely know today, you can't win 'em all.
