This week, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is taking place in Las Vegas. It's the biggest electronics trade show in the world, so every halfway decent manufacturer has a booth to pimp its newest products. Not surprisingly, that includes Haier, one of the NBA's biggest corporate sponsors.
To help boost the company's event profile, Haier called up Bill Walton for some promotional help. As always, he seamlessly made Haier's developments a logical extension of the history of basketball. OK, never mind, there were lots of seams, but at least Walton got to drop in all his usual commentary on teamwork, the genius of John Wooden, and the basketball mastery of Larry Bird.
What really makes this video great, though, is the punchline at the end. I don't want to give anything away, but the apparent topic has absolutely nothing to do with anything Walton says. I wouldn't have it any other way.
