Video: A 26-second tour of Derrick Rose’s athleticism

• Closing speed to catch up after Darren Collison had beaten him around Tyler Hansbrough's screen;

• Explosive vertical leap to deny Collison's lay-up attempt;

• Full-on sprint to get back up the floor and into the heart of the Indiana Pacers' defense;

• Dynamic, fluid agility to spin past Hansbrough and avoid the helping Pacer defenders;

• The strength to get the ball up around their outstretched arms and finish off glass.

You know, the Chicago Bulls just may have something in this Derrick Rose character.

Rose led the way for the top-seeded Bulls in the first half, scoring 18 points and dishing out three assists in 19 minutes (and getting to the foul line 10 times in two quarters). But his point-guard counterpart Darren Collison (15 points on 6-for-10 shooting, two 3-pointers and five assists) has also shined, helping the eighth-seeded Pacers to a surprising 55-51 halftime advantage. UPDATE: Rose was pretty good in the second half, too, leading the Bulls past the Pacers to take a 1-0 series lead.
