Daniels' late 3 leads Celtics over Nets (AP)

Boston Celtics guard Marquis Daniels , left, puts up a shot as New Jersey Nets forward Travis Outlaw defends during the fourth quarter of a preseason NBA basketball game Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, in Newark, N. J. The Celtics won 96-92.

Opening the preseason with back-to-back games was bad enough. The last thing Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers wanted was overtime. Marquis Daniels made his coach -- and a lot of other people in the Prudential Center -- very happy Thursday night, hitting a go-ahead 3-pointer with 35.4 seconds to play to lead the Celtics to a 96-92 win over the New Jersey Nets.
